Determine organization advocacy needs and establish and maintain connections with appropriate statewide advisory committees, organizations, etc. Develop and maintain a template for OSOPHE position statements; identify, approve, and distribute position statements.

Provide information on CHES/MCHES credit application process to groups wishing to provide continuing education contact hours at events; maintain appropriate records for national SOPHE; assist chapter members with CHES/MCHES application. Review CHES/MCHES application requests.

HEALTH EDUCATORS INSTITUTE (HEI)

Participate in the process to develop, implement, and evaluate the annual statewide conference coordinated by OSOPHE.

Update and distribute scholarship brochure and application form annually; coordinate selection of recipients through application review and voting by Chapter membership; arrange for presentation of award and payment; maintain procedures for members to receive scholarship to attend National SOPHE conferences.

To help better connect our members, our OSOPHE District representatives have a big role! Along with their regular daytime jobs as health educators, grad students and general all-around connectors in the community.

• They collect and assemble the quarterly newsletters.
• Serve on Membership Committee.
• inform and update regional SOPHE members of current health education activities.
• Provide and post on OSOPHE listserv information about local health education job positions.
• Assist the marketing committee to coordinate regional OSOPHE display usage.
• Work with Student Liaison and Scholarship Chair to provide Ohio SOPHE brochures and facilitating presentations to faculty and students.
• Follow-up with new members to review Ohio SOPHE meeting dates and new mentor phone calls.
