2026 HEI Professional Lodging Assistance Information


The Ohio Society for Public Health Education (OSOPHE) invites you to attend its annual conference on October 14-16, 2026, at Maumee Bay State Park, 1750 State Park Road #2, Oregon, OH 43616.


Professional Members: HEI 2026 "BOGO" Lodging Opportunity 

Lodging assistance through the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Workforce Development Grant is available to Ohio SOPHE professional members attending the full conference. The grant will provide one night of lodging for members who register for the full conference and stay at the lodge for both nights, Wednesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 15, and OPT IN for the lodging assistance.  

  1. You must be an active Ohio SOPHE Professional member when you apply AND during the conference. If you are not an active member during the conference, your lodging through the grant will NOT be approved.

  2. You must stay for the duration of the conference with closing remarks ending at 12:15 PM on Friday, October 16, 2026.

  3. Your room must be booked in Ohio SOPHE’s block at the Maumee Bay lodge by September 11, 2026 (9/11/2026), or while supplies last.  

  • You must make your own reservation by calling the reservation line at 1-800-AT-A-PARK (800-282-7275) to reserve a room under the Ohio SOPHE Health Educators’ Institute 2026 block (OSHEI2901). Neither Maumee Bay nor Ohio SOPHE are responsible for making any adjustments due to booking a room without referencing the proper group block, or reservations made through any other method. Warning: Avoid use of third-party reservation services, e.g. Expedia. To be in Ohio SOPHE’s block of rooms, you must go through the park reservation line above. 
  • A deposit equal to one nights’ lodging will be due to the lodge at the time you make your reservation. In addition, a hold will be put on your card at check-in for any incidentals.

 4. You must register for the full conference before September 11, 2026 (9/11/2026) AND opt in for the lodging support on your registration form. 

5. You must complete this Lodging Assistance Form in addition to opting in on your HEI registration form. 


NOTE: 

  • Ohio SOPHE will directly pay Maumee Bay for all eligible lodging assistance; members will NOT be reimbursed by Ohio SOPHE for any lodging costs. 

  • This award covers the cost of the room rate and applicable taxes for one-night only; members also need to pay for one night on their own.

  • Failure to attend the conference in full may result in the awardee being billed for all or a portion of the award value (approximately $168). 

  • This award does not include any other expenses, such as, but not limited to, room service, telephone calls, and hotel amenities, purchases, or any damage to your room. 

  • This opportunity is available while supplies last! Ohio SOPHE cannot extend this award to any other locations or to rooms outside of the assigned block. There may be no rooms available within the Ohio SOPHE block when you make your reservation. Ohio SOPHE cannot be responsible for room availability. Please make your reservations early.
