The Coordinator of Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Education is responsible for the planning and implementation of alcohol and other drug (AOD) prevention programs and educational services. Education will be targeted to all (faculty, staff), and students with specific programs designed for entering first year students, upper class students, and specific male student cohorts (fraternities, athletic teams, etc.). The Coordinator will regularly collaborate with Greek Life, Athletics, Sexual Assault prevention, Assessment, Health Center, and Residence Life. Utilizing best practices in prevention education to promote harm reduction strategies and challenge the normalization of alcohol use is an expectation. Education must be presented in the context of UD’s Catholic and Marianist identity and values.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate education programs, such as presentations, as an integral part of the Division of Student Development and in collaboration with the campus community;
• Using current data and best practices, plan and deliver educational seminars, workshops, and health promotion activities for campus student organizations, residence halls, and academic classes, and provide in-service programs for staff and faculty as requested;
• Supervise/ Advise Flyer Host program;
• Injunctive norms;
• Serve as a resource for the design and implementation of late night programs;
• Utilize social media and develop promotional materials to challenge the beliefs and expectations of campus/community constituents surrounding drug and alcohol use and abuse;
• Serve on the Division of Student Development committees that are responsible for shaping student policies and programs, particularly those regarding AOD and related issues;
• Ability to work some evenings & weekends;
• Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

- Master’s Degree by time of offer
- Demonstrated successful experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated experience in presentations and outreach to large and small audiences
- Demonstrated experience in collaboration with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in AOD prevention
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master Degree in Alcohol and other Drug Education/College Student Personnel/Health Promotion/Public Health, or related
- Two years experience designing, impleminting, or assessing AOD prevention or wellness health promotion programs through professional experience or internships, practicum, assistantships
- Two or more years experience designing, implementing, and assessing wellness programs
- Certified Health Education Specialist(CHES)
- Demonstrated knowledge of public health models, motivational interviewing, and/or BASICS
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to a Catholic Marianist work environment
- Demonstrated experience with a traditional college age population for 1 or more years
Work Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30-4:30, some evenings, weekends
